Due to various causes natural and man-made many children became parent less and remaining as orphans. To born as human being is itself a great thing. But some young kids who ought to be playing with birds and flowers, lose their parents become orphans and for want of food are roaming the streets with begging bowl. The Prema Samajam stretches its helping hands to such orphans and destitutes. Among the refugees there were many orphans and disabled children. The Prema Samajam with its loving hands welcomed these refugees and the orphans. For the case of the orphans, an orphanage was established in 1942. There are different types of orphans in the orphanage.
The Samajam evinces it most care in provision shelter, food, Medicare, shelter, education and bringing the orphans (boys and girls) in disciplined manner as good citizens. The total number of boys and girls reared in the orphanage since inception to 31-07-2021, is 2950. Only boys and girls below 10 years age will be taken into the orphanage without any destruction of caste, creed, religion. Girls are given education and kept in the orphanage till they attain the proper age for marriage. Any boys till they are able to stand on their feet.
In the Samajam itself there is a primary school and high school. Intelligent boys and girls are also sent to colleges and University. Such boys and girls after good education have become as welfare officers, Lecturers, teachers, employees in banks and other establishments. They are married and leading happy life with children.
Now as per under sections 41(1) and 50(1) of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of children) Act 2015 and Rule 21 (1) of Juvenile Justice Care and Protection of Children Rules 2016 Prema Samajam granted permission to accommodate 50 Orphan Boys & 50 Orphan Girls at Prema Samajam, Dabagardens, Visakhapatnam and 30 Orphan Boys at Prema Samajam Chodavaram Branch, Behind RTC Complex, Chodavaram.
