The sages of India worshipped the cow as a mother. But now as long as the cow is healthy and gives milk it is looked after by the owner and when once it becomes old and does not give milk, it is generally sold way to the butcher. Some kind hearted people purchase such old and useless cows from the butchers and entrust them to the Prema Samajam to be looked after. Some other people keep the cows as long as they give milk and when they become useless they are left on the roads to their fate. Naturally such cows meet with accidents on the roads. The Prema Samajam collects such broken cows and provide veterinary help to them. Some people also gift good cows and calves to the Samajam. All such cows and calves are provided with grass, hay etc., and looked after.
There are at present 70 Cows and calves in this centre. The total cows protected by the Samajam up to 2021 is 350.
