
Prema samajam was started in the year 1930 by Sri Maredla Sathyanarayana as it was known as Sri Sitarama Chandra sevaka Nagar Samkeeerthana Samajam with devotion and spiritual forever as its foundation. Sri Sathyanarayana with his three sons and other devotees used to go round the streets of Visakhapatnam in the early mornings melodiously singing devotional and spiritual songs moving devotees into deep piety. At the early young age Mr. Sathyanarayana moved as is irresponsible and bad evils and known for bad behavior. One incident where in he lost his left palm in a cracker fire accident which brought a sudden change in his life style in the sage Valmiki way and become Staunch Bhaktha of Lord Rama Chandra as a saint. This transformation indeed must have been the result of his past Samskara.
Sri. Sathyanarayana was preaching non-violence and love and providing food to saints and sanyasi and the poor with rice and alms collected them in each house. People need to see Chaitanya mahaprabhu in Sathyanarayana and worshipped him by showering faith and love. Sri. Sathyanarayana was an artist by nature and had an abiding interest in plays and favourite themes among them were “Sati Savitri” ‘Sri. Krishna Leelalu’ many amateurs received the training and excelled in stage performances and moved very close to people to take part in service to the needy, down-trodden fellow from rothren.
